Custom Analytics - Creating your own Analytics channel for CRM, Backend data.

Introduction

Custom Analytics lets you bring in data about your campaigns from sources that aren't (or can't be) integrated with Clarisights. For example, if the Revenue or Orders brought by your ad campaigns are in a CRM or in a database like Google BigQuery or Redshift, you can import them with Custom Analytics.

This data is a secondary data source. It is joined with the matching ad elements of the Advertising channel, which is the primary data source in the Clarisights data model.

Example

Here's a sample of CRM or backend data (secondary data):

It contains these columns:

  • Date: used as the attribution date.

  • Channel: a required column, used as the attribution channel.

  • Campaign: joined with the ad elements (in this case Campaign) from the advertising channel.

  • Revenue and Orders: the stats (metrics) that are imported and joined.

This data needs to be joined with the Campaigns of Google Ads and Facebook, the primary data sources. After joining, this is how it looks in Clarisights:

The data in box 1 comes from the primary data source, and the data in box 2 from the secondary data source, in this case CRM data.

CSV data format and requirements

The CSV must contain some standard headers so the data can be parsed. They are described below. Required headers are marked (required).
