Reports provide you with a way to organize and make sense out of your marketing data visually with tables, charts, and other graphic representations. This article aims to explain the different components of a Clarisights report.

Pro tip: Having a proper name will help you find the report. You could add a naming convention to the report name, Eg. adding a suffix such as [SEM], [App], which will make searching through the list of reports easy.

Tabs:

Tabs help you organize and structure your reports. Some of the common examples of Tabs would be Countries, Channels, Product Categories etc. You can add a tab by clicking on the "+" icon.

You can find the option to Rename, Duplicate and Delete the tab under the tiny inverted triangle icon.

Pro tip: Create a template tab with all the necessary widgets and then duplicate it to create tabs for different verticals by adding tab filters.

Widgets:

These are the tables, charts, and other graphic representations that make your report. They are various widget choices such as Table, Bar chart, Timeline chart, etc. Learn more about all the widget types you can choose from.

To create a new widget, click on "Create widget" present just below the Tab bar.

Widget Options

You can configure the widget to choose the dimensions and metrics, and also add the filters and sorting.

Date Picker and Date Override

Choosing the right dates is imperative to reporting data. There are 2 ways to choose the dates on the report (labeled on the screenshot above):

  1. User-level Date Picker - The data in all the widgets will be filtered for the date chosen in this date picker.

  2. Widget Date Override - The widget will show the data for the overridden date irrespective of the User-level Date picker. Please note this is optional. This is particularly useful to ensure the top widget show the data for This Month or This Week.

Now that you know the basic elements of a Clarisights report, let's build one.
