Connecting Mapp Intelligence on Clarisights
Mapp Intelligence (formerly Webtrekk) is a digital analytics platform for tracking on-site behavior, content engagement, and conversions. Connecting Mapp Intelligence to Clarisights blends your on-site analytics with paid media spend so you can attribute traffic, sessions, and conversions back to the campaigns that drove them.

Prerequisites
An active Mapp Intelligence account on the EU instance (
intelligence.eu.mapp.com)A Mapp user with API access enabled and permission to read analysis queries on the metrics / dimensions you want to import
The list of metrics and dimensions you want exposed in Clarisights (these become Custom Columns on the Mapp channel — your CSM can help you assemble it)
Steps to Connect
Step 1 — Confirm your Mapp user has API access
Sign in to Mapp Intelligence and verify that:
Your user has access to the analysis / query objects you want to import
API access is enabled for your user (a Mapp admin can enable this if needed)
Note your Mapp username and password.
Treat the Mapp credentials like any service account: store them in your password manager. They authenticate against Mapp's analysis API and can read all metrics / dimensions visible to that user.
Step 2 — Add Mapp in Clarisights
In Clarisights, go to Integrations → Mapp and click Add Account. (If Mapp does not appear in your Integrations list, contact your CSM to enable it for your workspace.)
[TODO: Screenshot needed — Integrations page Mapp row]
Step 3 — Enter credentials
Provide:
Username — your Mapp Intelligence username
Password — your Mapp Intelligence password
Account name — a friendly label for this connection (defaults to the user name returned by Mapp)
Currency — the currency to associate with this account in Clarisights
Click Save. Clarisights authenticates with Mapp, retrieves your account ID, and stores an access token along with its expiry.
⚠ Common error: "Authentication failed" → The username/password combination didn't authenticate against
intelligence.eu.mapp.com. Verify the credentials in Mapp directly. If your account is on a non-EU instance, contact your CSM — only the EU instance is supported today.
Step 4 — Configure the metrics and dimensions to import
After the account is created, your CSM configures the Mapp Custom Columns on the Clarisights channel — the list of Mapp metrics (visits, page impressions, conversions, revenue, etc.) and dimensions (campaign, source, content group, days, etc.) to query.
Mapp resolves the human-readable column titles to internal IDs at query time, so renaming a metric in Mapp doesn't break the integration as long as the title remains stable.
Verify the connection
Go to Integrations → Mapp. The account should be listed as Active.
First data appears within 24 hours of the next scheduled sync. Mapp queries run asynchronously — large date ranges are split into 15-day windows and polled until the report is ready, so backfill jobs may take longer than a single-day pull.
Quick start: open a new report, add Mapp as the data source, and add the metrics you configured along with the
daysdimension to validate.
Data available
Hierarchy
Mapp Intelligence is a web analytics product, not a campaign management tool. Data is organized by Mapp account and the metrics / dimensions you select:
Native level (Mapp) | Clarisights level |
Account (Mapp | Account |
Configured dimensions (e.g., campaign, source, medium, content group) | Custom dimensions on the channel — grouped by the level you choose |
Because the level mapping depends on which Mapp dimensions you import, the channel doesn't have a fixed Campaign / Ad Group / Ad hierarchy. Common configurations map Mapp's campaign dimension to Clarisights' Campaign level.
Dimensions
The exact dimension list depends on what is configured for your account. Commonly imported Mapp dimensions include:
Dimension | Description |
days | Date dimension (always included; format follows Mapp's account configuration) |
campaign | Campaign name as tracked by Mapp |
source / medium | Traffic source attribution |
content group | Content groupings configured in Mapp |
page | Page identifier |
device class / browser / OS | Visitor environment |
country / city | Geographic dimensions |
Metrics
The exact metric list depends on what is configured for your account. Commonly imported Mapp metrics include:
Metric | Description |
Visits | Total visits / sessions |
Visitors | Unique visitors |
Page Impressions | Total page views |
Bounces / Bounce Rate | Single-page sessions and bounce rate |
Average Time on Site | Average session duration |
Conversions / Orders | Conversion events configured in Mapp |
Revenue / Order Value | Transactional revenue (in account currency) |
Conversion Rate | Conversions divided by visits |
Limitations & known constraints
EU instance only: this integration targets
intelligence.eu.mapp.com. Other Mapp instances are not supported today.Asynchronous queries: Mapp's analysis API is asynchronous. Long date ranges are split into 15-day windows and polled until ready. If a report doesn't return within the polling window, the split is halved and the query is retried; the integration aborts after the minimum split (1 day) is reached.
Pagination cap: each page returns up to 100,000 rows; queries that produce more rows are paged automatically.
Duplicate rows fail the job: if the same dimension combination returns more than once for a date, the pipeline raises a duplicate-row error rather than silently aggregating. Contact support if you see this — it usually means a dimension is missing from the query.
Dimension cap: Mapp limits the number of dimensions per query to 20.
No demographic / cookie-level data: only the metrics and dimensions exposed by Mapp's analysis API are available. Raw hit-level or visitor-level exports are not synced.
Operating notes
Refresh schedule: daily.
Token refresh: Mapp issues bearer tokens with an expiry returned by the auth endpoint. Clarisights stores the expiry and re-authenticates automatically before the token expires (re-using the stored username / password).
Date format: Mapp's
daysdimension uses the date format configured on the account (typicallyYYYY-MM-DD). Clarisights reads the format from the account's metadata at query time and parses dates accordingly.Multi-account: each Mapp account requires its own username/password pair. Add multiple connections to import multiple Mapp accounts.
Credential rotation: when you change the Mapp password, update it under Integrations → Mapp → Edit. The username does not change.
