Prerequisites

  • An active Reddit Ads account managed in Reddit Ads Manager

  • A user role on each ad account: Account Admin, Campaign Manager, or Viewer

  • Membership in the Reddit Business that owns the ad accounts (Reddit's API discovers ad accounts through the Business hierarchy, not directly from a user)

  • Permission to authorize third-party apps on your Reddit account

Steps to Connect

Step 1: Sign in with Reddit from Clarisights

In Clarisights, open Integrations (the database-stack icon in the left sidebar). Under Set up new connection, search for Reddit and click + Connect on the Reddit card. A Reddit sign-in window opens. Sign in with the Reddit account that has access to the ad accounts you want to connect.

Step 2: Authorize Clarisights

Reddit displays a permission screen requesting the adsread scope and a permanent duration (so the integration can keep refreshing without re-prompts). Click Allow.

⚠ Common error: "You don't have permission to authorize this app." → The Reddit user you signed in with does not have the required role on any ad account, or your Reddit Business admin has restricted external apps. Ask the Reddit Business admin to grant access, or sign in with a different user that has the required role.

Step 3: Select ad accounts

After authorization, Clarisights looks up every Reddit Business your user belongs to and discovers every ad account under each Business. Select the accounts you want to connect and click Connect Accounts.

⚠ Common error: "No ad accounts found." → Either your Reddit user is not a member of any Business, or the Business has no ad accounts the user can read. In Reddit Ads Manager, confirm the user is added to the right Business and has at least Viewer role on the desired ad accounts, then re-run the connection flow.

Verify the connection

  • Open Integrations and, under Manage connected channels, open Reddit. Each account you connected is listed under Connected Account with its Status switch turned on. After the first sync, the Last refreshed column shows when data was last pulled.

  • First data appears after the next scheduled sync (typically within 24 hours).

  • Quick start: create a new report, add Reddit as the data source, and pull Account · Campaign · Impressions · Clicks · Spend.

Custom metrics

Additional Reddit reporting fields can be added as custom metrics. Ask your Clarisights contact to extend the schema with the specific Reddit field you need.

Limitations & known constraints

  • Longer backfills take time: Reddit reports are requested in small date windows, so refreshing a long date range takes longer than a regular daily refresh.

  • Rate limits: Reddit limits how many requests an app can make. When Reddit is busy or rate limits a request, Clarisights retries automatically, so no action is needed.

  • Currency normalization: Reddit returns spend in micro-units and conversion values in the currency's minor unit (for example cents for USD). Clarisights converts both to whole-currency units.

  • ~3-hour reporting delay: Reddit's reporting data is accurate up to roughly 3 hours behind real time. Same-day numbers may continue to settle for a few hours after the day ends.

  • Business hierarchy required: Ad accounts are discovered via the Reddit Business endpoint. A Reddit user that has direct ad-account access without belonging to a Business may not surface accounts through this integration.

  • Token revocation: If you revoke Clarisights' access in your Reddit settings, the integration stops syncing until you re-authenticate.

Operating notes

  • Refresh schedule: data is pulled once a day.

  • Lookback: the daily pull refreshes the last 30 days, so late-arriving conversions and adjustments are picked up.

  • Multi-account behavior: every ad account reachable through the authorized user's Reddit Businesses is discovered when you sign in. New ad accounts are not added automatically: open Reddit from Manage connected channels, click + Account, sign in again, then select the new accounts and click Connect Accounts.

  • Currency conversion: account-native amounts are pulled and normalized; Clarisights then converts them to your reporting currency.

  • Reconnecting: Clarisights requests permanent access, so it renews Reddit's short-lived access automatically during every refresh. You only need to reconnect if you change your Reddit password, are removed from the relevant ad accounts or Business, or revoke Clarisights' access. To reconnect, open Reddit from Manage connected channels, click Refresh Token next to the connected user and sign in to Reddit again.
