Metrics Group and Metrics Group Search
Metric Groups are a powerful way to organize your metrics within Clarisights. It allows users to categorize and group metrics based on specific needs, which helps easier access, search and management. In this article, we will show you how to create Metric Groups and how they make it easier to find the right metrics for you reports
Use Cases: Basic Metric Group
Your team most likely has a few strategic KPIs, or most important metrics that you will always want to report on. But every time you create a report, you have to find these metrics over and over again. Well, we have a solution!
In the example below, we have created a new Metric Group called “Basic Metrics”. It includes all the fundamental metrics from Total Clicks, Impressions, Total Revenue, Total Spend, etc. Once you have grouped them all together, this group will serve as a starting point for general performance analysis, providing a quick overview of your important KPIs.
Now when you edit the Metrics on any visualization, the Metrics Search will display all the metrics through the prioritization of: Metric Groups, Custom Metrics, and then Native Channel metrics. As you can see, our “Basic Metrics” group appears on top, keeping the most important metrics handy and easy to find.
Metrics Search
This prioritization is also applied when you type to search for a metric. For example, if you search for “Clicks”, the system will display all groups that contain a “Clicks” metric at the top. In this case, “Clicks” are available in your Metric Group “Basic Metrics” and also exist in other 22 Native Channels.
Knowing that our “Basic Metrics” group contains the most important metrics, we will now click on that group. The results are now filtered for Metrics that are part of this group, and you know exactly which “Clicks” you need in your report in seconds!
This is just one example. You might use Metric Groups to organize metrics also by team (Paid Social metrics, Paid Search metrics, etc.) or by source of attribution (Platform-reported, Google Analytics, Internal Attribution model). We are confident you will find the right way to make use of this feature!
